Dear m other of Shirley Schaubel, of Niagara Falls, and Karen Diebel, of San Dimas, California. Best gramma to Shawn, of Langley, B.C., Scott, of Niagara Falls, and Stuart (Teresa), of Niagara Falls. She gave her whole being to her grandsons. Sister of Jack Warden, Evelyn Harris, both of Niagara Falls, Hazel (Lloyd Raynard), of Owen Sound, Gordon (2002) (Ditty) Warden, of Southampton, Kenneth (Violet) Warden, Joyce (Ray Wilson), Both of Niagara Falls, Betty Warden, of Niagara-On-The-Lake, and the late Fred Warden and Irene. Born in Stamford Township, and a resident of Niagara Falls for all of h er life, Jean was a lifelong, faithful member of Grace Gospel Church, w here she taught Sunday school for 42 years, and was known as “Auntie Jean” to many 2 and 3 year olds. Jean had a keen interest in the children of the church and community. The joy of her life was serving her Lord in her church and her family. She will be greatly missed by her family, her friends, her church and neighbours. Mrs. Diebel is at the MORSE & SON CHAPEL of the MORGAN FUNERAL HOMES, 5 917 Main Street, where family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 a nd 7-9 o’clock. Service to celebrate her life will be held at Grace Gospel Church, Valley Way at Portage Road, on Monday morning at 11:00 o’clock. Interment to follow at Lundy’s Lane Cemetery. She was agracious Lady, g iving freely of her love, time and possessions, to relatives, their chi ldren and many friends and acquaintances. She was born to Elizabeth Thi bert and John Blanchfield in Cantley, Quebec. She arrived in Niagara Fa lls at the age of six. She was predeceased by ten brothers and sisters, B ertha, Edmund, Archie, Lawrence, Fred, Vincent, Margaret, Loretta, Elda ge and Gertrude. She was the first President of the Lady of the Scapula r CWL and a forty plus year active member of the Stamford Lioness Club. S he had many years of volunteer work with the Red Cross, GNGH, Dorcheste r Manor andas a School-yard monitor. She, along with her husband of ove r fifty years, Gordon , (predeceased) of G.A. Wilson Plumbing and Heati ng were members who sponsored and entertained many groups from the N.F. C urling Club, the Hermes Club, Niagara Optimist Club, Lions and Lioness a nd the CWL. Those left to remember her are her son and wife, Robert (Ma ry) Wilson, Daughter Betty Brodie, Daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and J ack Netherton and Daughter and son-in-law, Bunnie and Bill Brandt. 495 | Doris Irene Sadolsky, Age 88, of Uhrichsville, died peacefully, Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012 in Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Uhrichsville. Born in London, England on July 18, 1924, Doris was the daughter of the late Frank and Eliza (Smithers) Biggs. During World War II Doris served as a member of the British Women's Air Corps as an aircraft observer. During that time, she met and fell in love with a young American soldier named Sidney Sadolsky. The couple soon married and returned to the United States and settled in New Jersey. Doris worked for a number of New Jersey hospitals in addition to caring for her growing family. Upon her retirement, she relocated to the Tuscarawas Valley to be with her family. In her free time, she enjoyed her grandchildren, crocheting, playing bingo and bowling. She is survived by two sons, Alan (wife, Mia) Sadolsky of Sherrodsville and Raymond Sadolsky of Bakersfield, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband; a son, James Sadolsky and a daughter, Linda Barrett. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation care will be conducted through Geib's Tuscarawas Valley Crematory in Dover with the family planning a private service at a later date. Those wishing to do so may send the family personal condolences by signing the online guest registry or light a candle in Doris' memory by visiting her permanent memorial located on the funeral home's website.
